Is Movie Hub As Good As it Seems?

Movie Hub is, the makers claim, a completely free app which is available for all Windows users. However, there are a number of things worth noting about it before downloading. Certainly, the app will be of appeal to fans of streaming film services, but how does it operate and what level of service do you get for the free version?

Movie Hub in brief

One the many movie app that are available to download on the market these days, Movie Hub allows you to view an unlimited amount of films, all – or most, at least – in glorious high definition. Once you have downloaded the app, it becomes child's play to browse and select from hundreds of cinema released films. The app also holds a great deal of independent movie titles from around the globe. You can select from a wide number of film genres, too. These include handy sections where you can compare comedy films or family movies side by side, for example. In addition, the app allows you to search for drama, horror, Spanish-language films and even documentaries. Furthermore, there are plenty of action and a adventure films as well as separate sections for animation, fantasy, thrillers, sports and war. Once you select a film, it will play a trailer or the full movie for free, but there are advertisements that will break up your viewing pleasure.

In app purchases and operation

For a streaming service to be free of charge you might expect a catch. In the case of Movie Hub, you need a top up purchase to remove the advertisements and to unlock all of the system features, such as 'Play To TV' which allows you to cast your stream to a television set, rather than having to watch it on your tablet or PC. Overall, there is an easy user interface to get on with which operates on much the same lines as NetFlix. With the app, you can watch as many films as you like without having to pay a subscription fee. In addition, users are able to add movies to their own unique queue, so you could come back to view something you fancy watching in the future without the need to search for it again. Requiring up to 7.79 MB of free space on your device, the app is designed to function with Windows 10 or Windows 8.1 only. The app itself has no age rating but some of the content that can be streamed through it will require parental responsibility to filter. The picture quality, when casting to a large screen TV, is exceptional thanks to the HD images which are accessible from the start. However, if your internet connection does not happen to be running very fast, then you can select a lower quality image to prevent hold ups in the play back.

In conclusion

This is an easy to operate streaming service with plenty of viewing potential. However, watching older movie releases with lots of interruptions soon becomes tiring, so the idea that it is completely free should not be taken completely literally. That said, content is regularly being added to the service, so there is no reason not to give it a try and see whether it suits your viewing tastes.
